Welcome to the home page of the Ilkeston & District Astronomical Society. We are a friendly society local to Ilkeston, Nottingham and Derby. 

		CURRENT MOON moon cycles	A free public lecture by Stargazing Live presenter, Mark Thompson. To be held at the University of Derby on 5th May.
Thank you to all those who visited and participated at the Erewash Museum's Stargazing live event. Unfortunately, the clouds rolled over and prevented any live observing. However, over 160 people enjoyed presentations, astronomy and telescope displays. There was also a "star Trail" game to challenge the younger, budding astronomer. IDAS and the Museum are already planning next year's Stargazing Live event. Thank you to all those that participated in the Wild Night at the Attenborough Nature Reserve's, Wild Night on 16th February. We had over 70 visitors that enjoyed the night sky as well as presentations and displays. We were fortunate to have good views of Jupiter and the crescent moon.		The Sun Now
